Since the early 17th century visitors have come to Tunbridge Wells to take “The Waters” and its popularity brought the town a certain reputation for fashion and scandal.  This exhibition allows you to see and hear for yourself how high society idled away the hours in gossip, gambling and merrymaking.

A series of authentic scenes and lifelike models helps you to step back in time and experience a journey which begins as the stage coach prepares to leave Southwark, bound for Tunbridge Wells.  A typical day at “the Wells” unfolds…
